84 Barnegat Students Receive Perfect NJASK Scores
Many third, fifth and eighth graders received perfect 300s on the NJASK math test last year, and one middle schooler received a perfect language arts score.
A total of 84 Barnegat students received perfect scores on one of their New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge tests last year, the district announced last week – an "unprecedented number," said Superintendent Karen Wood.
The standardized tests are administered to students in the third, fifth and eighth grades. Students from all four elementary schools and the middle school received perfect 300s on their math tests, while one middle schooler had a perfect language arts score. Bravo to these young people and their meritorious achievements. Their focus on academics will serve them and the rest of society well as they journey through life.
Congratulations, too, to the teachers who serve as craftspeople helping pupils mold their abilities to think, reason and challenge the status quo. Teaching is a true science and it takes a true, dedicated professional to master it.
Last, but far from least, great thanks must go to the families. Thank you for maintaining the nurturing environment that motivated your children to aspire to such heights.
